Miami Palmetto Senior High PTSA
For over 50 years the Miami Palmetto Senior High School PTSA has worked with teachers, parents and administrators to cultivate excellence in academics, sports and leadership opportunities for our students. Through volunteerism, advocacy, fundraising and community action, we make sure that every child is welcome at Miami Palmetto Senior High, and that every family finds a home in the PTSA.
Give to the PTSA Today!
Every donation is invested right back in the school to augment the resources and experiences of our parents, teachers and students.
National PTA School of Excellence
Miami Palmetto Senior High School was recently named a National PTA School of Excellence for the 2016 -2018 school years. National PTA’s School of Excellence program supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools that work to improve the educational experience and school environment for every child. As a National PTA School of Excellence, at Miami Palmetto Senior High School, families feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and PTA is a key partner for continuous school improvement.
Becoming a National PTA School of Excellence began with the joint commitment of PTA and our phenomenal administrative team to work together to welcome all families, communicate effectively, support student success, speak up for every child, share power and collaborate with the community. Our school has successfully mastered these commitments and we applaud everyone for doing so.
Congratulations to Anna Hochkammer, 2014-2016 PTSA President, for her leadership through the accreditation process and to the entire 2015-2016 PTSA Board.
Stay Close, Go Far
Palmetto’s graduates walk among the best in the nation after graduation. The Class of 2016 exemplifies why we all chose excellence in our own backyard.
The School Store sells uniform compliant apparel and school supplies. We are open every day from 10:30 am to noon in room 305B. Designs and styles change frequently, so stop by often. All profits are immediately reinvested in your school through the PTSA.
Palmetto's Hall of Fame
Although Palmetto alumni have long made a name for themselves across many disciplines and throughout the world, no formal Alumni Association existed until recently. Some local graduates briefly explored the idea of founding such an association in the early 2000’s, but it was not until 2010, when PTSA parent Susan Admire Harris offered to spearhead a steering committee comprised of alumni and Palmetto parents, that the first important steps were taken.
The Association has its own website (www.palmettohighalumni.org), where members may seek out news about the school and former classmates as well as information regarding upcoming reunions.
MPSH is now an electronics waste recycling drop-off point. Leave your used monitors, TVs, fax machines, cell phones and other electronics with Ms. Shlachtman in the science department at any time. The PTSA will receive a cash donation for every item you recycle, plus you help out the planet. It’s a win-win!
