Paws for Panthers Mission Statement
Paws for Panthers (“PFP”) is a committee of the PTSA of Miami Palmetto Senior High. PFP ensures a select group of at risk students (who face homelessness, housing insecurities or serious financial difficulties), as identified by our Miami Dade County public school social worker, receive the needed services to encourage them to come to school, limit their absences and complete their high school education by maintaining their grades. We want to allow these young adults to have a similar high school experience as their peers. Our goal is to provide them with uniforms, school supplies, and book fees. We especially make sure the seniors are not left out of any of their senior year experiences by covering the costs for their senior picnic, senior breakfast, Homecoming, grad bash, prom, tuxedos, prom dresses and many more things. Personal care products needed are also collected, as are food baskets. Our funding is provided by donations.
